With the newest release 5.50 Build 5496 I tried to synchronize
my PC at the office and at home. As I usually do this in both directions.
It is exactly the same version on both machines.

I chose the option: update newer than existing record.
All the updated records have the password destroyed.
It is replaced by a long string. At startup I got an error.
Unfortunately not readable but just a "3" and something out of boundary.

Fortunately I always make a backup before I start the process, so I was
able to restore both DB to the original state but I am unable to synchronize.

Were both the source and target databases set to use the same encryption type?

No, the databases had different encryption types.

A few hours after I had posted the first message I remembered that
I had had the same problem years ago.

Is it impossible to compare the encryption types and give the user a warning?
