This script action will send a pre-entered e-mail via the Internet. An Internet connection is required. Your “sender” information must be filled out in File->Setup->Options (on the E-mail and News tabs).
Press the “Select Message” button to select or create a message to send. The “New Message” button skips the display of the list of e-mail messages, and allows you to add a new message immediately.
Here’s a sample step-by-step procedure to follow to send a mass mailing:
- On the main menu, select Lists/Contact Categories
- Add a new category called "Friends" (press the New button, enter Friends, press OK).
- Close the List window.
- On the main menu, select Lists/Contacts.
- For each town, press New, fill in their information, and press OK. Give them all the same contact category (“Friends”).
- Close the List window.
- On the main menu, select Lists/E-mail Messages.
- Press "New". Change the Mail Type to Mass Mailing. Select the "Towns" contact category. Enter a sample subject and message. Save the message by pressing OK.
- In the future, you will just select this message and modify it.
- Note that the "Send E-mail" test button on this window only sends to single users, so it unfortunately can't be used on this message.
- Close the List window.
- On the toolbar, press the Add Program button (far left).
- Enter a category and description, and press Next.
- Press the Scripting button.
- Press New.
- Select Send E-mail.
- Press the Select Message button and select the message you just set up.
- Save the script action by pressing OK.
- Close the scripting window.
- Press Next.
- Enter the schedule information and press Next or OK.
